Neri-totoro was also scouring the forest in search for a yummy potluck item. Berries sounded too sweet for today, so she wasn’t going to make anything like a berry pie. No, today she felt like making a salad. She hopped and trodded to the nearest pond where she was sure to find copious amounts of leafy greens! After finding an assortment of kale, water lilies, duckweed, and moss (for a bit of a kick!), she was off to make fantastic salad. This party was going to be like no other!

Oswin didn’t know what to do.
She couldn’t speak and her throat felt like she’d swallowed a sea urchin!
Throughout the day, her friends wanted to talk to her.
“Want to race?”
“What do you think of Sigfried’s fancy fin?”
“Oswin! Let’s go for tuna!”
She felt invisible, and wanted to tell them that racing sounded wonderful, tuna was a great idea for lunch, and that Sigfried’s fin was hilarious. Sad that she couldn’t speak, she swam off into a cave not far from where their pod was staying.
“I’ll wait out my sore throat here and come back to the pod in the morning!” She thought to herself.
It was getting dark and Oswin was starting to feel lonely when she felt a swoosh behind her! More and more swooshes and swishes went around and past her until she was shoved out of the cave and into a group of her friends.
“You were being really quiet today! We were wondering if you were alright.” One of the older dolphins nudged her.
Oswin opened her mouth as if to speak, but no noise came out.
“Ooooh, your voice is gone! No wonder you weren’t as chatty today!”

In other news, for my first knitted critter, I think Oswin looks pretty alright!
